R.R. E55A (100H) (PP 289. 13.12.12) G 4057 Experimental Dept. 155/B Mr. Johnson. Mr. Royce. 4.2.13. AW2/CP/G421. With reference to Mr. Hives' report on the 500 mile run on the Austrian Chassis No. 2122. There is a mudguard now instructed to be made to cover in the side lever mechanism. Works are proceeding to make this. The side shaft of the gear box is now being quietened, and we have already got 2 of the Austrian cars with quiet side shafts and good gears, so that there is no reason why we should not have this car fitted with a good side shaft in the course of the next day or two.
