Dear Mr. Hives, On my last visit to you, when you may remember we discussed our new aeroplane fuel pump scheme and mixture enrichment device for allowing high boost pressures amongst other subjects, the question of freezing in carburetters arose. I have made enquiries, and so has Davey, and we can get no information with regard to any freezing trouble whatsoever occurring with our carburetters. This is rather what I expected, because it is almost certain that if it had occurred, we should had complaints without seeking for them! You will remember that it was suggested the same day that you might be in a position to arrange to test one of our carburetters, and it is probably quite unnecessary to tell you how keen I am to get this opportunity.
