COPY. Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, London, W.1. Received 16th July, 1934. Dear Mr. Sidgreaves, I have just returned from Northern England and find your letter of July 9th regarding the car. Your offer is certainly very kind and most attractive, I assure you, and I had planned on a week-end trip but a trifle more extensive I think than would reasonably be construed as contained in your suggestion. What I had in mind was leaving London Friday the 20th, touching along the Cornwall Coast, across to Bournemouth about Sunday or Monday and returning to London on Monday or Tuesday. This is too much to ask of anyone as a courtesy, but I am wondering that if possibly I had the use of a car I could hire a reliable driver who knows the country and pay all the expenses myself, including the driver, petrol, oil, lodging, etc. I have been wanting to come and visit you here in London, but am obliged to go into the north of England again this next week, but possibly if you see any merit in the idea I suggest above you could, if convenient, write me at the Park Lane Hotel. Meanwhile until I can call on you I am with best wishes. Yours truly, (Sgd.) C.W. Miller. | ||
