X 4573 RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/MA.19.4.34. B.IV Engine ex. Car From America. We wish to use this unit for supercharger tests using the power plus blower to anticipate the troubles we shall experience when using the blower off the Graham Page. As far as we know the only thing wrong with this engine is :- (1) Broken Piston. (2) Broken inlet valve. (3) Damaged cylinder head. We wish to keep the cylinder head intact with its valves and valve springs as at some future date we are going to try to reproduce the American valve spring failures. Will you therefore please modify the crankshaft to take the blower drive, replace the broken piston, examine the big-end and main bearings and replace where necessary and rebuild the engine. Will you also please supply a new cylinder head complete to standard dimensions as we wish to reserve the damaged cylinder head for valve spring tests only.
