[Handwritten at top] Childs 614H. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Do you concur with these recommendations BY/RD.2/B.23.9.37. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [Handwritten on left] See no justification whatever for this, particularly as we are coming to overdrives. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [Typed text] PHOENIX - Engine Electrical Units. DYNAMO. 5" Dia. 20 lbs. weight. Shunt Wound, ventilated, voltage control. Engine Revs - up to 4,500. Axle Ratio 4.75 - 1, with overdrive giving 3.95 - 1. 17" Rims and 6" Tires. Dynamo could run 1 1/2 times crank speed to obtain cut-in at 13 M.P.H. This would give dynamo an easier time at the higher engine speeds. Provision to be made for a machine 9" long. MOTOR. Assuming engine to be 6 cylinder - 3 1/2 litre possibly 4 1/4, we need a motor of the Bentley size i.e. 4 1/2" Dia. x 8" long. Weight including drive - 20 1/4 lbs. Geared 14 - 16/1. IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR. 3 1/8" Dia. model with better electrical features, - Double Contact Breakers, simplified automatic timing governor and vacuum control. IGNITION COIL. 2 1/8" Dia. x 5" long. New pattern with inside H.T. and centre H.T. terminal. 6 1/2" BY/[Signature] | ||
