Typed Text: EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thn8/H23.3.22. Re. STEERING WHEEL POSITION OF GOSHAWK II. We are particularly requested by Sales Department to see that the Steering Wheel on Goshawk chassis is in the correct position when the chassis leave the Works. The correct position is regarded as being such that the spokes are at an angle of 45° on each side when the contact pieces have bedded down etc., as shown in the sketch below. [Text next to diagram] ANGLE A SHOULD BE A FEW DEGREES LESS THAN B ON A NEW CAR, THEN, AS THE VARIOUS PARTS BED DOWN THE WHEEL WILL TEND TO TAKE UP A POSITION IN WHICH THE ANGLES A & B ARE EQUAL.
