1306 5th December, 1940. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Clm. {D. D. Clapham} 11/ET. Messrs. Rubery Owen & Co., DARLASTON, Staffs. Dear Sirs, We wish to try tin gaiters on our leaf springs and we understand that you have had some experience in the manufacture of tin Gaiters. We are therefore sending you a pair of springs which we should like fitted with tin gaiters. We do not know what type of spring clip is usual, but if the type fitted is too bulky, you could doubtless make some suitable ones. You will of course pack them with grease before fitting, and we think that a grease nipple should be provided in each gaiter for further lubrication at infrequent intervals. Will you please let us have an estimate for the sample gaiters, and also for larger quantities on a production basis, say in lots of 500 off., under peacetime conditions. Hoping that you will be able to oblige us in this matter, We remain, Yours faithfully, | ||
