Dear Mr. Lyons,

Thank you for your letter of May 3rd.

I am sorry that you will not accept our statement that the 'Jaguar' we had was not ill-treated.

We value the goodwill of the S.S. Car. Co. far more than the cost of the repairs to this car, and are, therefore, passing you a credit note for the amount in question.
