B.50 GEARBOX.

As discussed with Hdy.{William Hardy} we now know of further modifications required to this gearbox.

(1) We need synchromesh springs on all 3 gears. This is being drawn.

(2) The middle third of the splines in the 1st. speed wheel should be removed. This helps to keep 2nd. gear in mesh.

(3) A slightly stronger selector spring is required for reverse. The latest design comes out of mesh at full throttle but only requires a touch on the lever to keep it in. We suggest a spring giving 12 lbs. at the gear knob.

(4) We require a breather and have discussed with Hdy.{William Hardy} incorporating this in the aluminium dip stick.
