To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X.4240. E3/M10.5.22. GOSHAWK 11. RE RADIATOR OUTLET. X.4240. As now made the Goshawk 11. radiator steam pipe blows off steam inside the bonnet if boiling occurs. We have provided a scheme whereby water coming from this pipe is caught in a cone shaped well and drained away outside, but it is difficult to provide also for the steam to be carried outside, as it necessitates adding a removable extension to the pipe of some inches. We should like to know whether this is thought desirable from the point of view of the steam blowing out and warning the driver when boiling occurs. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
