1345 Gr.{George Ratcliffe} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/ML.11.3.40. SUPERCHARGER FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE OIL ENGINE. We are at the present moment considering a design of a 2-stroke oil engine commercial vehicle unit. The predominating requirement of such a unit is a low fuel consumption. We see that in a recent paper read in America, Mr. Jankey claims that with an exhaust-driven blower on a 4-stroke oil engine, output is better by 5 - 10% than if a mechanical blower is used. If this is true, surely the difference should be still more marked on a 2-stroke oil engine. We should be glad to have your recommendations. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
