RR 238 (150 BKS.) (SH57. 29-6-20.) MP 224358 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. 19 To Order No. Customer's No. 2 With this setting, the operation cold was noted. Temperature 17°C. The points opened at 15.0 volts and closed at 10.9 volts (dynamo standing) to 10.7 volts (dynamo at 2500 rpm). From this figure of 15.0 volts it does not appear that the controller should operate cold if the battery is low, since the voltage does not much exceed 14.0 measured at the same point until the battery begins to get fairly well charged. The switch E is for use with a Phantom dynamo K set to maximum permissible output, on 12EX, but the setting should be quite satisfactory as found using a 20h.p. machine. Signed: H.A.A.
