OIL FILLER. LOP. E.60872.
25/30 HP. Type Filler
with crankcase breather.

Handwritten note: Swell - was this an out of date filler?

The bearings gave no trouble. The centre plate of the spring drive fractured close to the rivet holes after 4.200 miles. A new plate was fitted. Tests deleting the rocker cover breather to the air silencer in favour of the crankcase breather showed an improvement in oil consumption of 16% with light throttle and 10% with full throttle driving. The rivetted flange for the filler cap came loose in the rivets. This was a usual fault with 30 HP. fillers.
