Attention of Mr. G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} H. {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Wyman- Experimental Department. BURGESS AIR CLEANERS ETC. We are much obliged by your letter of the 1st instant enclosing copy of a letter written to our Leicester works. At the same time, we should like to thank you for the interview which Mr. Rowbothom and yourself kindly gave to the writer, and to mention that the different matters discussed in connection with silencers generally will be made the subject of special enquiries to our American laboratories as soon as we receive from you the additional data, as arranged. You may remember that Mr. Rowbothom was particularly interested in knowing the restriction set up by the Burgess Industrial Cleaner under various conditions of use. We have received, this morning, the attached chart which was intended for our own files but if the information contained therein is of value to you please keep it for reference. The dimensions given correspond to our American associates standard range which differs slightly from our own but as we use the same density of fibre the efficiency and restriction figures will approximate closely to those obtained from elements of our manufacture. We regret we have no similar figures available for the flat wire gauze type ("Acoustikleener") but we attach a rough drawing showing the restriction curve for dirty and clean copper gimp. Continued..
