Phantom III.

(1)
On account of excessive wear on the tappet adjusting screw ball pads in the push rod cups, the design sent through LeC.5215 with alternate schemes 1 and 2 which we instructed for No.9 in 35-EX (15,000 miles) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}2/JH.8.8.36.
Will you please produce two more sets, one for fitting to an experimental chassis and one for a test bed unit as this trouble is serious.

(2)
In view of the satisfactory run on 6-B-IV with S/SLV exhaust valves, will you please make 2 sets of S/SLV valves for Phantom III to LeC.5219 to have a guide clearance of .0015 - .002.

(3)
Will you please have made 2 or 3 standard water heat hot-spots in aluminium to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 88370 for trial with regard to replacing the standard cast iron hot-spot, by which there is a saving of 8 lbs.
One of the above to be fitted to the Continental unit No.14 as for the present we do not wish to continue with exhaust heat.

(4)
A modified form of oil pump drive has been produced following several failures in production.
Will you please have several made for fitting into experimental chassis and test bed unit.

(5)
Several non return ball valve seats have come adrift in production thus cutting off the oil feed to the tappets. This ball seat has been deleted and the ball housed in the banjo screw as shown in LeC.5275.
Will you please have this modification carried out.
