To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} L9910 R2/M30.6.24. FOUR WHEEL BRAKES. X.9940 X.9910. I was very pleased to hear that you have succeeded in getting quiet gears for the servo drive. You have proved that it is not unsteadiness of the transmission shaft. I believe the principal advantage you have obtained is that the worm teeth have increased in obliquity and therefore have a chance of giving a smoother transmission to the worm wheel. This will argue well for our future applications of the 7 to 1 worm drive. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
