746 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} Copy to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. [Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} is struck through and 'Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}' is handwritten above] Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}7/ET.10.4.41. LUBRICATION - FRONT SUSPENSION - MYTH ------------------------------- PL.544, attached to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's copy, shows the lubrication of the steering pivot, cross steering ball joint and lower triangle outer bearing on the Myth front suspension. The scheme shows a Tecalemit oil resisting reinforced rubber hose, as the means of getting the oil from the frame to the moving pivot forging. This is the type of flex used on the 2 1/2 litre Daimler for a similar job and we think it is worth trying in our case. The type of flexible hose finally used on production will depend on the behaviour of this hose and on the respective prices of this and alternative hoses. The remainder of the parts used are standard Luvax-Bijur junctions, elbows, meter valves etc., and there are two extra bosses on the pivot forging and various holes added. In addition, the opportunity has been taken of showing the modified shape of hole in the front brake dust excluder plate, to clear the enlarged lugs for the cross steering lever shown on PL.537.
