My impression is that the internal leakage within the cells of the accumulator through imperfect separators and the deposits on the supports, is the real cause of the battery running down when standing, and the cause of it being thought that the dynamo does not maintain the charge in the cells through insufficient capacity or through not cutting in early enough.

If this is so, it would be far more satisfactory to get cells which will hold their charge better, than it would be to increase the capacity of the dynamo, which would only result in most cases of destruction of the cells and loss of liquids by overcharging.
