Bentley / Mr Barrington} A preliminary investigation into the fitting of the Two Leading Shoe Brake on this axle has been made, and we cannot forsee any real difficulty. We are endeavouring to use as much of your existing material as possible, and in this connection we should be glad if you could let us have detail drawings of the following parts:- Brake Drum, GB.2756. Brake Drum Liner GB.2757. Brake Drum Liner Ring, GB.2758. Carrier Plate GB.2748/9 Cover Plate GB.2750/51 Oil Catcher GB.2738. Oil Shield GB.2747. We would also be glad if you would confirm the dimensions of the carrier plate flange to the brake drum fixing flange. This distance scales 2½" on your drawing 5178. Contd....
