Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} MAR 9 1927 RECEIVED w/s. LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} c. W/S.G. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X9400 BY1/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 9.3.27. COMBINED LUGGAGE GRID & WHEEL CARRIER FOR 40/50 HP. CHASSIS. Referring to LHS{Lord Herbert Scott}/Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}15/EDI.17.2.27. upon receipt of the above memo I at once put through an instruction to the Cost Dept. to break up their cost figures in such a way as would make them more intelligible. The attached copy of RB{R. Bowen}4/N/57A/EJ.4.3.27. should make the whole matter clear. In this memo the Cost Dept. have broken up the proposals under three headings - a/- The cost of the pieces for carrying the new luggage grid, that is, pressed steel extensions to the frame with the cross tube replacing the present luggage grid bracket which is fitted to all chassis. b/- The estimated factory cost of the luggage grid itself, which is of course additional to the cost under heading a/-. c/- The further cost of adding to a/- and b/- the necessary parts to produce the rear spare wheel carrier. The above figures deal with the position when we have instructions in sufficient time to enable the parts to be built up in the ordinary way in the Works on a chassis going through under ordinary routine.
