New bottom tappets, existing ones having
been badly grooved, being decided to run A side as
standard solid tappets with normal clearance and B side
with hydraulic tappets for comparative wear.

Unit return to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} on 22.11.34 after run
of 94 hours, a total of 751 hours, the bearings being
very tight.

Unit No. 2 again on test 27.11.34, the
bearings having been eased.

This unit developed 199.4 BHP. at 3750
RPM. and a maximum MEP. of 110.3 at 2000 r.p.m.

Experimental type of exhaust silencer
Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1526 improved from losing 55 BHP. to 35 BHP.

Investigation of low oil pressure when
idling and hot, shows necessity of larger pump, with
an improved release for the oil when cold.

Ignition advance tests carried out and
development of suitable governor springs (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1676) to
follow the ideal advance line.

Unit returned to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} for examination 15.1.35.
having run a total of 123 hrs, 494 hours since last
inspection and 7 weeks on test. Both A and B side tappets
