| x300a HOTEL DE FRANCE. CHATEAUROUX. Indre. France. 10th July 1935. To. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From. G.W.H. 3. S. I. SPECTRECodename for Phantom III. We have heard from Paris to-day that Fisher has arrived there, and is getting the material through the Customs. A telephone call at three o'clock, the Customs had not been cleared; I asked Levallois to assist as much as possible. We have been tackling the oil leak from the rear of the Engine, and from the Gear box. We hope with the alterations made, that the oil leaks will have been reduced. We will inform you what the results are, as soon as we get the Car running again. The Clutch when dismantled, was saturated with oil on the outer edge. The space around the anchorage of the Clutch fingers, was where the oil had entered. We have cleaned the fabrics as much as possible, and with judicious slipping should burn the remaining oil out. The dismantling of the Clutch is a hell of a job. We have got it down, but it is certainly not a service job. ---------------- G.W.Hancock. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} W.
