SUNBURY-ON-THAMES, MIDDLESEX. 20th Feb. 22 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (RECEIVED) FEB 23 1922 Dear Sir, We recently showed your Mr A.{Mr Adams} Hanbury some specimens of iron and steel made rustproof by our improved Sherardizing process, and he advised us to submit a specimen to you, suggesting that the process might be usefully applied to rustproofing your exhaust boxes, especially the section bolted to the engine. As the temper of steel is not affected by this process we consider it could be applied to road-springs, exposed nuts and bolts, mud-guards, tie-rods, etc. Perhaps you are aware many of the leading Sparking Plugs are treated by the Sherardizing process. We enclose you leaflet explaining the process, also a leaf of a spring which has been treated. To enable you to judge the efficiency of this process we would like to treat some articles for you, we would suggest a leaf of a spring, preferably a short one, an exhaust box and a couple of nuts and bolts.
