ITEM. (a) DESIGN POSITION.

MERLIN "C.1" ENGINE - CONTINUED:-

Modification to lower half crankcase. Completed.
Piston - 6:1 compression ratio with groove below bottom scraper ring. Completed.
Oil feed to upper bearings of electric starting gear. Completed.
Supercharger front gear housing with oil jets. Completed.
Crankcase:- oil drain from cylinder head. Completed.
Modification to governor shaft (governor for gun gear). Completed.
Modification to starting gear. Completed.
Modified oil drain from wheelcase to lower half crankcase. In hand.
Modifications to generator pump drive. In hand.
Wider supercharger gears. Completed.
Moderate ratio supercharger gears. In hand.
Modified camshaft feed oil pipes. In hand.

MERLIN C.II

Cylinder head - modified coolant passages and valve centres. In hand.
Two stage water pump for evaporative cooling. Put aside.
Supercharger drive - roller bearing for rear layshaft bearing. In hand.
