EFC/ADW.2.31. contd. -2- Another suggestion is a 1/4" more on the external diameter of the dynamo which we have been given to understand is possible without too much affecting the crankcase (though in this case dynamo interchangeability would be lost). Yet another possibility is the suggestion of the lengthened machine which we have put to R.{Sir Henry Royce} but which he apparently looks upon with some disfavour. About 3/8" increase in length would be possible though the necessity of being able to remove the dynamo end cover clear of the exhaust pipe has to be taken into account. It may turn out that by a combination of our F armature modification and a small increase in the of the armature diameter as allowed by a reduction in the thickness/carcase, that we can get the performance up to what we require. Before giving the definite recommendation we are awaiting the result of the armature modification which we hope will be available in the course of the next few days. EFC. | ||
