RE HOOPER CAB. DE VILLE FOR EAC.VII. X7830

I visited Messrs Hooper's Works yesterday to speed up the above body and, as it is now nearly completed, was able to make this my last visit. As far as they are able to tell, they expect to give delivery on Feb. 28th. or within the next few days. We will wire you the exact day.

This body has been a long job for the following reasons:-

(1) The illness of Mr Carpenter who had personal charge of this special work.
(2) The wave of influenza which has depleted Messrs Hooper's staff for some weeks past.
(3) The secret nature of the EAC.VII. chassis which has rendered it extremely difficult to cater for the special body features called for by the chassis without giving the coachbuilder any ground to suspect any real or vital modifications.
(4) This is a 33% discount order and has doubtlessly given place to customers orders when occassion has arisen.

It is true to say that at no time have the coachbuilders been held up for more than a day or so awaiting information from W.W. or pieces from Derby.
