To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. +300 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}11/KW.25.1.35. SpectreCodename for Phantom III. The insulated sparking plug cover terminals as fitted to No. 3 unit make the inlet sparking plugs more inaccessible than ever. Trouble was experienced in the fitting of these covers as they are a fit in the cylinder head recess, allowing no side play to spring the spring clip into position on the terminal. Misfiring occurred on the exhaust plugs and after substituting the insulator by ordinary Chater-Lea terminals, this was cured. This we intend to verify as soon as possible. The probability is that condensation takes place inside the cover. Sparking occurred between the outside of one of the covers and the cylinder head. We have instructed RRO. to replace these insulators by the Lodge type as fitted to No. 2 unit, which we found very satisfactory. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.Swindall. | ||
