1263 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}4/JH. 10th. June, 1939. The S.U. Co.Ltd., Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, BIRMINGHAM.8. For the attention of Mr. Kent. Dear Sirs, The urgency of the position with regard to the supply of diaphragm assemblies forces us to accept the neoprene material and our order office are despatching an order to you for 200 25/30 assemblies fitted with Neoprene. We do, however, insist that these are supplied with packing rings and suggest that these are cut out of the .022" thick material you have which is useless for assembly purposes. The outside diameter of the ring should be 2.875 in diameter and is located on the studs, the internal diameter should be 2.00 + 10. As this trouble has arisen at your end, we hope you will see no objection to this course, and suggest it might be possible to make a quick punch for making these rings by using an oversize pot as the die. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
