TELEPHONE: WATERLOO 3333 (50 LINES). TELEGRAMS: AUTOCARS, SEDIST, LONDON. Iliffe & Sons Ltd. Dorset House Stamford Street, London. S.E.1. 1st January, 1941 W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq., Rolls-Royce Limited, D E R B Y . Dear Mr. Robotham, First of all, many thanks indeed for your card and good wishes, which are heartily reciprocated. With regard to the Mark V Bentley, which, as you are aware, we are to review from the technical aspect, I have received from Mr. Barnes your drawings RF.1905, RG.{Mr Rowledge}1913 and GL.{G. Linnett}887. I gather that more are not available at the present time, but we would very much appreciate a G.A. drawing of the engine, if you could release it. The real purport of this note, however, is to mention that in the chassis which is being sketched at Scrubbs Lane, the propeller shaft is split in the middle, whereas on the blue print now received, that is not so. Would you be kind enough to tell me which form of shaft you would prefer shown. If there are any further technical points which would be useful in an examination of the chassis, our people would be very glad to have them. As you probably know, I have one of these cars and have now done 2000 miles on it and propose to let Mr. Cowen have my detailed impressions in the near future. I must say it is a beautifully P.T.O. | ||
