X.2944 [Handwritten and struck through] RE SPECIFICATION OF ELECTRICAL OPERATION OF DYNAMO FOR R.R.CAR. X.40606 [Handwritten] X.3626 [Handwritten]

I approve of the specification with the one exception.

You do not seem to have included the amperes that the machine shall give at 540 revs., no amperes are given until 900 revs. whereas it is important that at 600 revs. the charging current shall be maintained [Handwritten insertion with caret: after heating up] at a useful amount.

The Lucas dynamo on 1 EX. appears to be a long way from operating at the speeds given in this specification.

We think also that there should be a specification for the automatic switch, so as to be sure this will connect up the dynamo whenever it is possible to get a useful charge.

I shall await your further remarks.
