RE. EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT EXPENSES.

We are forwarding for your information a report on the expense of experimental work compiled from information supplied by the Accounts Dept. set out on 5 Charts as follows :-

Chart 1. Showing total direct expenses.
" 2. 40/50 HP. and Phantom "
" 3. 20 HP. and Goshawk "
" 4. Aero engine.
" 5. Shop expenses, testing in France, Elect: experimental cost, and sundries.

(All the figures are exclusive of overhead charges, which in year 1925 amounted to £7,479. 13. 4d.)

The expenses are shown for the current year up to Sept. 30th. in black line and amounts for each month given.

The average expense line for 1925 is shown in Red. The average expense line for 1926 is shown in dotted red line, and on Chart 1. only, the average for 1924 is given in green.

It will be noted that Chart 1. (total) includes all figures set out on 2. 3. 4. and 5 charts.

It should be realised that we are expecting to receive from the Government on account of our aero engine expenditure, a considerable amount of credit.

We should be glad if you will kindly initial the slip on the inside folder and return to me after perusal so that I may later send to BJ. and WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} We propose sending the charts along to you giving additional figures each month.
