O-y February 2nd.1938 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}5/AP. M.Olley Esq., Messrs Vauxhall Motors Ltd., LUTON, Beds. Dear Oy, Many thanks for your letter of the 21st. I am sending you a German paper we had translated, of which a few paragraphs are interesting, relating to the increased /u obtainable in a forward direction when driving over that obtainable when braking. If you have already seen it or when you have read the parts that matter, please send it back. I have spent a most enjoyable time reading your paper in the blue book, and am now looking forward to a little heckling. To get the maximum possible speed on a turn would it not pay to lean the outer wheels inward and get help from the camber thrust? Could not therefore a motor-bike take a given curve faster than a car.? I will keep further questions till we meet, except whether 4 ply tyres have the same cornering power comfort ratio as 6 ply tyres of the same size. Yours sincerely, | ||
