x7772. BY1/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 27.6.30. WH OY HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Mr. VALVE SPINDLE PACKINGS. EEC. 5060. ---------------------------------- Referring to OY4/DM.{D. Munro}25.6.30. we have standardised this scheme on the 40/50, and it will commence on N.2 series. We had not thought the matter sufficiently important to make scrap in order to bring it in earlier on the 20 HP. - we are bringing it in on 'S' series. In regard to OY's last paragraph, our design does not permit of the upper part of the gland bedding on the valve guide, but with this scheme we think there is very little risk of the valve guide working up as the same pressure will be maintained on it regularly owing to the ease of movement in following up action of the asbestos gland itself.
