THE DUKE OF KENT. ------------------------ As we have already reported, His Royal Highness has complained of the inadequacy of the charging system to keep the battery of this car properly charged, and he experiences great difficulty in starting the engine. The car is used a good deal at night and there is consequently a considerable drain on the battery. Kingsbury inform us that the other night the car had to be pushed in order to start the car. We understand that the position is that there is nothing which can be offered to improve matters and we have been obliged to tell Kingsbury that our only suggestion is that the battery should be charged from an external source when the car is not in use. We regard this complaint as serious and we do not think that the suggestions which have been made will satisfy H.R.H. The car is going to Barkers for a few days as from Monday next and we shall be glad to have your considered opinion as to whether anything further can be done. There are several other similar complaints from Bentley Owners in London where the cars are used a good deal at night. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} | ||
