E.R. HALL'S CAR FOR 1936 T.T.

This car will be coming into the department at the end of next week. The work required on it is as follows:-

(1) Fit the new petrol tank.
(2) Fit standard brake lining.
(3) Fit the T.T. cylinder head.
(4) Examine the petrol pumps to make sure that they have not deteriorated in any way due to the use of pure Benzol when practising for the Le Mans.
(5) Change the radiator for one of the latest lightened Standard type.

The procedure we should like to adopt with this car is as follows:-

Immediately on receipt we should like to change the brake linings and then give the car a run on the road to run them in.

Subsequently the other work can be carried out.

With regard to the vent in the petrol tank Hall does not want us to cut a hole in the body for this but to fit a cap on which will go under the body and can be got at under the rear seat. The point is that this tank will not want to be filled rapidly in this particular race as it is hoped to run through with one filling, therefore the ordinary cap on the vent will be quite sufficient. This vent is necessary because the last gallon or so of petrol cannot be put into the tank without a vent.

We should like to know the exact weight of the petrol tank empty and also the buffer clearance with the petrol tank full.
