Date 22nd December 1919.

For the attention of Mr. Hives.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 19th inst, and we are glad to hear that the C9. Plugs are proving satisfactory.

We note your remarks regarding the length of leakage surface. We have anticipated this by making some experimental plugs with the Mica 5/8" long instead of 1/2", the end of the mica being left in the form of a sleeve.
These plugs are undoubtedly much more satisfactory than the Standard C9. from the stand point of non-sooting, but it is doubtful whether they will withstand an extended test on full throttle without causing the Mica to flake.

We are sending you herewith 4 sample C9. Plugs with the extended Mica sleeve and you may be interested to test these, but please bear in mind that they are quite experimental and should be treated as such. We shall be very interested to hear the results of your tests on these plugs.

Yours faithfully,
LODGE PLUGS LIMITED.
