4009 SECRET. W/S. C. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/R.2.8.39. 14-B-V 'CORNICHE'. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} In view of the fact that our testers in France are recording their tyre tests in the Daily Reports, the results they are obtaining do look alarming unless one understands what is being done. Before this car left England, we ran our present standard India tyre on it, and these threw the tread after 3 miles @ 100 m.p.h. The Avon tyre was just about 5 times as good. We shall have no difficulty in getting an Avon tyre which will be satisfactory on the 'Corniche' before the Motor Show. The Dunlop Rayon tyre is, of course, purely experimental, and has never been in production. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
