| 2. Composite Pistons are still strictly experimental. Nothing has been considered good enough for production. Oil cooled malleable pistons are growing. The over drive is moving forward and will be in the box. Several 1937 cars will be so equipped. No interest in built-in Jacks. Hydraulic tappets are still in the consideration stage. Non-accessibility of present tappet adjustment is forcing consideration. -- The Wilcox Rich type that is fed under pressure is seriously considered. The Morse chain people have developed a unit that is self contained. -- Weight is the item of consideration. The Cadillac eccentric type is still doing business, but quite expensive. The G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Research eccentric mechanical automatic for over head is particularly good. - Now being used on Diesels. All jobs require consideration for a special Camshaft, depending on inherent deflection for the ramp. All jobs are subject to variation, due to valve sticking. No car manufacturers are using stellited valves. | ||
