Extract from Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}'s report - MR. GWYNNE ALL-WEATHER BODY. It is too narrow in front seats to be comfortable and the front seat passenger is pressed up against the door which is dangerous as if the door opened, the passenger would almost certainly fall out if the car was travelling fast. The hood has been a nuisance the whole time as it balloons with the wind and at times we have had to accommodate our speed to suit the hood so as not to tear it off. The clips fitted to attach the side of the hood to the metal framework are quite useless for the purpose and appear to me to be put on upside-down. The frame above the near side rear winder has broken at the point where the hood framework is pivoted and we have had to fix it with wire. We have also had to put strings over the top of the hood to hold it down. The framework of the hood is much too light also the metal window frames. They may stand up in England but they won't stand the racketing of these roads. The mechanism for raising and holding the front windows is also poor. It is inconvenient to operate and also will not keep fixed unless tightened up excessively. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} | ||
