Contd. -2- R6/G9.4.19. ---------- carburetter. On changing from the No.3 Anglo-American fuel to some good benzol originating at Birchenwood Collieries, this car could be made to run perfectly satisfactorily without the preliminary heating up, and ran with apparently increased power, but shewed on slow running that the engine was very likely to stop through over-richness, which was not apparent with the poor petrol which would not vaporise, and with which we had experience of accumulating in large quantities in the induction pipe or carburetter. The garage owner who supplied this benzol states that he has had no trouble from tarry deposit, although he has had considerable experience in the running of his taxicab business obtained from Birchenwood - North Staffordshire.
