for Mr Coverly To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from EFC. EH. EFC1/AT6.12.17 X.2894.-MAGNETO CONTACT BREAKER CONTACTS IN TUNGSTEN BY L.P.S. CO. Herewith please receive two Watford magneto contact breakers which have been again fitted by the L.P.S. Electrical Co. with tungsten contacts. These contacts are, however, this time of an improved material as compared with the previous time, and of one of which the L.P.S. Co. consider more suitable for the particular case of magneto contacts. Will you kindly have these fitted to two magnetos and run together on an engine on test for experimental results. The L.P.S. people point out that the rocker arms on these contact breakers are very loose, and we think that in fairness to them these should be rebushed, if possible, to eliminate side play. Will you kindly see what can be done in this matter. It should also be noted that one of these is minus a small carbon brush making the high tension contact between the rotating and stationary elements of the magneto. EFC. | ||
