[Handwritten signature] Re Olympia Show Cars - SpectreCodename for Phantom III. -------------------------------- We send herewith nine sets of the following 16th. scale body designs:- Lec. 4579. Enclosed Limousine, 'C' type steering. Lec. 4331. Enclosed Limousine, 'H' type steering. Lec. 4562. Continental Touring Limousine with division, 'F' type steering. Lec. 4561. Continental Touring Saloon, 'F' type steering. These drawings cover the majority of body types likely to be required on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III, and they will enable the Coachbuilders to set out their own variations of the type which they propose to exhibit. We shall follow these up with quarter-scale chassis prints to enable the Coach-builders to set out their full size drawings of the body, almost immediately, and by that time the jigs will be ready for delivery and also our recommendations concerning construction. The Works are anxious to know what type of steering column they have to order up for each of the eight Olympia Cars. This information will be available as soon as you receive particulars of the Coachbuilders proposed exhibits. We take it that we are right in equipping each of these eight chassis with only one spare wheel on the off-side in view of your remarks concerning the Demonstration Cars. With respect to the Bumper fixings we suggest that as all of the cars will have swept backs of some sort we should provide Bumper brackets at the rear. The front end of the frames of all chassis will be drilled for front bumper fixings and these can be fitted as required. We appreciate that the matter of room on the Stand may necessitate bumpers being left off some of the cars whilst at Olympia, and they may be subsequently fitted. We are sending you nine sets of prints so that you will have a few spare copies. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
