Clutch file Per: X2200 281, Polmadie Rd., Glasgow. S.2. 13th March, 1933. Messrs. Rolls Royce Works, Ltd., Derby. Dear Sir, For the attention of Mr. Gill. With reference to my recent visits and demonstrations of the Barclay Patent Clutch for Gear-Changing, I have pleasure in enclosing, as promised, a Blue Print showing the rough details of this Patent devise. As already explained and demonstrated to your representatives this arrangement is absolutely feelproof and indestructable, and can be fitted to any type of car from 7 h.p. up. In the meantime I have arranged to manufacture up to 12" diameter, which is suitable for cars up to about 25 h.p. I am, however, going into the question of a more powerful clutch for greater horse-power, and if you are still interested in this proposition I shall be pleased to submit prices for same. The clutch which you saw when I visited your Works can now be supplied complete with all fittings as per B.P. enclosed, for the sum of £12, delivered your works. Finished units of this devise will very shortly be ready for delivery, and if you would care to have one of these for inspection, I shall be pleased to forward same on hearing from you. Thanking you for the courtesy extended to me when I visited your Works, and assuring you of my best attention at all times. Yours faithfully, Robert Barclay | ||
