I shall be very pleased if they will make careful tests when they get time of the difference in petrol consumption with the usual fan speeds in cold weather, and while the weather is still at the same temperature, what economy can be obtained by permitting the water to be always at boiling temperature. This can be done by removing the fan belt, perhaps covering up part of the radiator, and by providing an ample supply of water to replace any boiled away in the radiator during the test. My object is to find out whether we should be justified in providing some convenient and perhaps automatic means of maintaining the water in the return to the radiator at practically boiling temperature.
