RE CARBURETTER FOR BUGATTI.
Having had some experience with the Zenith carburetter on the Bugatti which shews considerable delicacy of adjustment requiring the exact size nozzles, or else missing fire pretty badly, we would like to see how this same engine would run on a Claudel carburetter, and Mr Elliott is sending you particulars of the flange to which it is to be attached.
The bore of the induction pipe is 30 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} The venturi tube in the Zenith is bored 16 m/m, but as the Zenith jet is only of small diameter it is possible that this part may be slightly larger in the Claudel. We are going to try this with the present induction pipe, but as it has nasty dog leg in it we may have to fit a new induction pipe to prevent the bad distribution of petrol which we believe is taking place because of this bend.
A sketch of the pipe is shown on this memo.
