K/W.........RMGWH. Pk/Kc/DMC/26.8.37. Bumper Studs. Piece No. FB 2337. ----------------------- A case has arisen today where possibly a modification to the standardisation sheet would assist us considerably in the future. A car that has been involved in a collision, damaging the front bumper only, but also involving the bumper supporting studs, piece No.FB2337, necessitating their replacement, has revealed the fact that in order to re-pin the new securing studs it would be necessary to remove the wings owing to their shape. Could not this peg hole, which is at present drilled vertically in the dumb horn, be on future designs drilled horizontally. Replacements then can be carried out easily, irrespective of the type of front wing in use. Pk/Kc [Handwritten text] Perhaps if you see BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} he will see the point. The trouble is due to the wings that are domed & are similar to the type that mask the front shackles. JAL I agree to make a scheme for this with good holes each side [Sketch of a pin through a part, with labels] wire stud W.W.C. | ||
