COPY. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.8/JH.5.11.36. The four port head on 32-EX. car was recently checked for its effect on water loss and temperature difference between front and rear of cylinder head. The car was run over for a distance of 100 miles at as full load as traffic conditions would permit. The maximum temperature difference between front and rear of head being 1°C. with the higher temperature at the front of the engine. Further, the water loss over 100 miles was one quart, with no steam valve fitted to the top tank. This head therefore shows a decided improvement over the standard head so far as temperature difference and water loss are concerned. We have sectioned a four port head and the water ways are definitely improved over standard. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
