a volt-ampere curve of a fully charged 12-volt P & R battery subjected to various values of charging current. It should be stated that the points on this curve can be repeated with considerable accuracy when varying the current in any manner i.e. there is practically no memory effect. We are making an experiment to. obtain a prolongation of this curve on the discharge side --- the exhibition of such a complete curve i.e. both at charge and discharge will be of considerable interest in the present connection.

The armature experiment referred to above certainly appears to be the most immediate direction in which the output curve may be improved in the two respects simultaneously; and even if subsequently other modifications such as the lengthened machine are experimentally introduced, any beneficial result obtained from the armature experiment could very naturally be incorporated in any machine representing an improvement by other means.
