EFC4/ADL7.2.31 contd. -2- then in the succeeding cycle (A) ignition would fire (b) sparking plug and (B) ignition (a) sparking plug. then if one ignition failed all the sparking plugs would still be in use every other time. This would require a six point cam to be driven as at present at half engine speed operating two contact breakers 180° apart together with one twelve point distributor driven at quarter engine speed with two rotors placed 180° apart. The disadvantage would lie in the requirement of simultaneous advance and retard of the contact breaker and distributor. Perhaps this scheme is not worth consideration but it may contain a suggestion leading to a further and better scheme. EFC. | ||
