Description of Parts: Modification to the Oil Drain Pipes from Camshaft Casings to Crankcase on Eagle Series IX Engines. Origin: To prevent breakages. Experimental Test Report: The scheme has been tested out on an "Eagle" engine for a period of 50 hours. It was noticed that vibrations were reduced considerably and the pipes were satisfactory at the end of the test. CONDOR EAGLE X KESTREL HAWK DATE: 5.5.24. No. 3989. Drawing No. E.24274. Part List Air Ministry consent obtained "A" Scrap and replace at all costs. "B" Scrap and replace on those engines in Works. "C" Scrap present stock and replace on all engines not yet handed to test.
